Today, one of the key strategic goals of the city government is to boost St. Petersburg’s development as an international exhibition and congress center.
St. Petersburg counts among the exhibition industry leaders in terms of the concentration of exhibition programs. The city plays host to 75 percent of all exhibition events in the Northwest Federal District. Ten percent of all exhibition events in Russia during the year are held in St. Petersburg. St. Petersburg hosts exhibitions on a wide range of topics, including industry and innovations, computer science, communications, education, food, equipment, sports, leisure, textiles, fashion, jewellery, gifts, environment, health care, labour protection and security.
